Roller Bearings

Roller bearings — also known as rolling-element bearings — are similar to ball bearings in that they are designed to carry a load while minimizing friction. FAG tapered roller bearings can support high radial and axial loads. They have a broad range of speeds. They are efficient at supporting forces and ensure a precise and rigid shaft guidance system due to the large effective distance between the bearings. Tapered roller bearings can be adjusted and dismantled, which makes mounting easy.

Due to the inclined position of the rollers, tapered roller bearings can support both radial and axial forces. Four-row and double row tapered roller bearings are used in rolling mills.

Tapered roller bearings are separable; unlike cylindrical roller bearings, however, it is not possible to fit the inner rings on the neck first, mount the outer rings in the chock and then slide the chock onto the roll neck. The complete bearing must instead be mounted in the chock, after which the chock together with the bearing is slid onto the neck. This means that the bearing inner ring must have a loose fit on the neck, although it should technically have a tight fit due to the circumferential load. With a loose fit, the inner ring will inevitably creep on the neck. The neck will undergo heating and wear in this case. Wear can be restricted by good lubrication of the fit joint between the inner ring and roll neck.

INA CYLINDRICAL ROLLER BEARINGS 

Single-row cylindrical roller bearings with cage are units comprising solid inner and outer rings and cylindrical roller and cage assemblies. The outer rings have rigid ribs on both sides or no ribs, and the inner rings have one or two rigid ribs or are designed without ribs. The cage prevents the cylindrical rollers from coming into contact with each other during rolling. Cylindrical roller bearings can be supplied with or without a cage.

There is nothing that cannot be improved. We developed the TB roller to significantly increase bearing operating life under an axial load. TB as in TorusBallig (torus shaped). The special curvature of the end faces of this roller enables loads to be distributed across a significantly greater surface area. The curved roller end face increases the size of the contact surface and thus significantly reduces the contact pressure.

INA PLAIN BEARINGS, MAINTENANCE AND MAINTENANCE FREE STEEL AND BRONZE PLAIN BEARINGS 

Plain bearing and rod end designs that require maintenance with steel/steel and steel/bronze material pairs are easy to maintain, cost effective, and excellently suited to alternating loads. Plain bushes, washers, and strips employ the low-maintenance metal-polymer composite E50. The sliding layer features lubricant pockets, which means that an initial lubrication is sufficient in most cases.

INA MAINTENANCE FREE PLAIN BEARINGS

Schaeffler offers a comprehensive catalog of maintenance-free plain bearings. Innovative plain bearing materials are used here, such as ELGOGLIDE, ELGOTEX, and the metal-polymer composite E40. These PTFE plain bearing materials enable ultra-low coefficients of friction for spherical plain bearings and rod ends as well as bushes, washers and strips while ensuring low wear and very long life cycles. Maintenance-free plain bearings considerably reduce lubricant and maintenance costs as they do not require any oil or grease while also being very environmentally friendly.

SKF Vibratory Screen Spherical Roller Bearing

SKF Explorer spherical roller bearings for vibrating applications have a 3-piece hardened steel cage system with an outer ring centred guide ring. This enables the bearing to operate with the lowest possible internal friction and operating temperature, which in turn extends bearing service life.

SKF spherical roller bearings for vibratory applications have the same dimensions and performance values as bearings in the 223 series but have a C4 radial internal clearance as standard. They are available with either a cylindrical or tapered bore. To facilitate efficient lubrication all bearings are provided with an annular groove and three lubrication holes in the outer ring.

SKF spherical roller bearings for vibratory applications are, depending on their size, available in one of the designs described below.

CONSTANT PRE-LOAD BEARING (P TYPE)

This single row bearing has an extended outer ring, housing a number of springs. It is mounted in conjunction with either a single or double row bearing. Double row bearings offer nearly twice the capacity of the equivalent single row bearing, and are therefore used in more heavily loaded applications.

The plain outer race enables this bearing to be used in a 'floating' position to permit thermal expansion. As such it can replace a P type bearing when additional load capacity is required.

G type bearings can be preadjusted to give GE double row bearings. This is achieved by fitting a spacer between the inner races to give the required assembly end play or preload. The choice of setting is based upon a number of parameters such as speed, lubrication and applied loads. Spacer width is adjusted individually prior to despatch.

FLANGED CUP (H TYPE)

Double row bearings offer nearly twice the capacity of the equivalent single row bearing, and are therefore used in more heavily loaded applications.

This double row bearing has a flanged outer ring which locates the shaft axially. This can also simplify housing machining operations and overall design.

 

H type bearings can be preadjusted to give HE double row bearings. This is achieved by fitting a spacer between the inner races to give the required assembly end play or preload. The choice of setting is based upon a number of parameters such as speed, lubrication and applied loads. Spacer width is adjusted individually prior to despatch.
