Drum Motor for Conveyors
A Drum motor (or motorised pulley) is a geared motor drive enclosed within a steel shell providing a single component driving pulley for conveyor belts.
A drum motor is a one component conveyor drive where the motor, gear drive and all moving parts are enclosed inside the drum. The motor and gears operate in a sealed oil bath ensuring proper lubrication and cooling.
The Drum Motor has many advantages such as compact structure, high transmission efficiency, low noise, long service life, stable operation, reliable operation, good sealing, small space occupation, convenient installation, etc., and is suitable for working in various harsh environmental conditions.
Traditional conveyor setups in food-processing and packaging industries use external gear motors as the belt-drive mechanism. But drum motors are increasingly common as an alternative conveyor drive.
According to the needs of some special occasions of the belt conveyor, there has been an externally mounted electric drum with the deceleration device inside the drum body and the motor outside the drum body between the separate drive and the electric drum drive.
Conveying Versatile and reliable core products ensure a dynamic, efficient material flow across all continents and in all sectors:
• Conveyor rollers
• Drum motors and return rollers
• 24 V DC Drives (Roller Drives)
• Controllers for Roller Drive and drum motors
They are used to convey, accumulate, feed or remove goods. Powered or with gravity. With or without accumulation pressure. Easy to install drive solutions for new plants or to refurbish existing plants.
The 24V Drum Motor is a new type of drive device that puts the motor and the reducer together inside the drum body. It is mainly used in stationary and mobile belt conveyors, replacing the traditional electric motor and the separate drive device with the reducer outside the driving drum.
