Linear guides
Linear guides provide a precise guiding function for positioning loads in combination with linear motion driving elements, such as actuators or ball screws. Our linear range includes precision rail guides, various profile rail guides and linear ball bearings, as well as units with precision shafts. From a few microns of stroke up to several meters of movement, almost any precise motion application in industrial or office environments is possible. The high product standardisation provides high-quality components even for applications with the lowest friction or noise emission request.
Linear bearings, units and shafts
Features:
· Wide range of bearings sizes from 3 to 80 mm
· Optional in stainless steel design
· Linear ball bearings (also called ball bushings or shaft guides) are cost-effective and widely used linear guide systems used in a variety of applications. The guiding principle consists of three elements: linear ball bearings, bearing housings and precision shafts. The wide range of diameters combined with the different types of bearings, housings and shafts make it easy to use and flexible to design in. Shaft guides provide low-friction guidance at unlimited travels and high tolerance to misalignments.
Miniature profile rail guides
Miniature profile rail guides are made for applications requiring compact, high running accuracy, long service life and low noise. Ewellix LLS systems offer extremely smooth running behaviour. The robust ball retention system avoids surprises during mounting. The products are ready to install while pre-lubricated with a lubrication reservoir for long service life. Rails and carriages (blocks) both have two reference sides for easy mounting.
Ball profile rail guides
The ball profiled rail guides are widely spread in many industries and are nearly used for any linear guide application. They are equipped with 4 rows of ball-bearings at right angles. Thanks to the X arrangement with rails and carriages (block), larger differences in height can also be made up. This superior design ensures reliable and friction-free operation of a linear motion system. The carriages can be replaced with the same rail size, simplifying maintenance and installation.
Precision rail guides
Ewellix precision rail guides provide the highest precision in motion and are used in high end industrial, medical and electronic applications. They are available in a wide range of sizes and rolling element options. The non-circulating rolling elements provide outstanding smoothness in motion. Ewellix Anti-Creeping-System (ACS) ensure position accuracy as it avoids cage creeping.
Roller profile rail guides
Roller profile rail guides are the high-end guide solutions for applications like machine tools, automation industry or plastic injection moulding machines. Ewellix LLU guide systems offer high precision and rigidity at the highest load ratings with the most compact design. The LLU carriages (blocks) are interchangeable within the standard precision classes for standard rails.

SEEGER® retaining systems are manufactured from high-grade spring steels which are selected on the basis of the special characteristics required for the various ring applications. The rings are hardened using the appropriate heat treatment processes (bainitic hardening or isothermal austempering) to enable them to absorb high axial forces when fitted in the groove, ensuring the rings can be assembled without any issues. It is interesting to note that larger rings have a lower hardness, because the stresses placed on them during assembly are not as high as the stresses placed on smaller rings. The hardness of rings is specified in terms of Rockwell or Vickers values depending upon ring size.
Carbon Spring SteelSeeger-Orbis selects raw material based on its performance characteristics, such as a high modulus of elasticity, high yield point, high elastic elongation and good hardening abilities; which are best achieved by spring steels in accordance with DIN 17222. The material C75S, material No. 1.1248, is a good example. This is a high-purity carbon spring steel with a low phosphorus and sulphur content. This material, along with Mk 58 and spring steel wire in accordance with DIN 17223, are the primary steels used to manufacture Seeger retaining systems.
Special MaterialsIn addition to the above-mentioned carbon spring steels, corrosion-proof materials are also used. The following materials are also available to manufacture SEEGER® retaining rings:
Corrosion-Resistant Stainless Steels
1. Designation: X 39 CrMo 17.1, Material Number 1.4122 As a hardenable martensitic chrome steel, this material does not have the resistance of austenitic chrome nickel steels, but it suffices for numerous applications and is used above all in the manufacture of smaller and medium-size rings.
2. Designation: X l2 CrNi 17 7, Material Number 1.4310 This material is an austenitic, corrosion-proof stainless steel which is particularly suitable for work hardening. Both SEEGER® rings to DIN 471/472 with dimensions of more than 100 mm nominal diameter (concentric form) and snap rings SW/SB can be manufactured from this material.
Note:
All stainless steels are susceptible to specific types of corrosion, which in certain circumstances, may lead to sudden failure of the ring assembly due to brittle fracture. It is absolutely necessary to pay attention to the specific characteristics of these materials when used in conjunction with certain corrosive media. The risk of stress corrosion can be minimized by reducing the tension. Therefore, the depths of the grooves should be designed in such a way that the rings are assembled with a minimum of pretension.
Tin Bronze CuSn8, Material Number: 2.1020.34, DIN 17662 Although it has a high strength, this material has a lower elastic deformation than spring steel. Therefore, rings manufactured from this bronze tend toward plastic deformations in the higher-stress smaller dimensions; although, a tight fit in the groove is almost always guaranteed. In comparison with spring steel, this material's lower modulus of elasticity (115.000 N/mm²) results in a reduction in its load bearing capacity and its detaching speed. However, tin bronze is antimagnetic, and even at low temperatures, shows no tendencies towards embrittlement.

Principles of operation
Linear guides – the key part of precision instruments – are used in conjunction with compact ball screws which are locked onto a platform and linked to a servo motor, to produce linear motion. The main function of the guide is to allow the platform to maintain high precision, high rigidity and high load motion.
STAF linear guides have a common rail, interchangeable alloy steel slide, designed for reliability and flexibility. The dust sealing twin lip structure ensures effective sealing and the large internal lubricant storage facility reduces maintenance requirements and extends the service life of the system.
Cage and non-cage types, which are fitted on the same profile rail, have new patented features which include a ball re-circulation design, with no gap, for smooth running. The newly designed chain lubrication system reduces friction during operation and extends service life of the system.
The BGC cage-type linear guides, which are suitable for high-speed applications, contain lubricant between the steel balls. The friction produced during operation is reduced by the oil film. Advantages over conventional systems include reduced contact pressure, lower noise levels, less vibration and lower heat generation.
In traditional guides, the steel balls collide, producing a sharp, screeching noise and are easily worn out. BGC linear guide cages are manufactured from macro-molecule polymer, with lubricant space designed within the chain belt. With the flexibility of the chain belt and the cushioning effect of the lubricating oil, most of the noise produced from the chasing effect of the steel balls is eliminated.
The BGC steel ball retainer has a fixed distance retaining function so that each steel ball receives a balanced force for stable operation and extended service life. The issue of irregular gaps is far smaller than with traditional linear guides.
The BGX non-cage series, with a four-groove design, ensures even load capacity in all directions, irrespective of how the rails are mounted. An auto adjust capability prevents assembly errors and allows quick, accurate linear motion by eliminating the deviation of the mounting planes. Advantages of this four-groove series over the conventional two-groove design, include quick, light movements, reduced friction, high load ratings and improved stability.
Accuracy
The accuracy of linear guides depends on the efficiency of circulation of steel balls between the slide and the rail. The incursion of the smallest objects can cause skipping and bumping of the slide and lead to permanent damage.
The advanced seal design of the BGX series is divided into top and bottom seals systems to prevent the incursion of foreign objects. The top seal system prevents particles caught at the rail holes from entering the circulation groove and the bottom seal system prevents objects from entering through the gap in between the slide and rail.
STAF has also developed micro linear guides – the MBX and MBC series, with an integrated dust-proof design and an efficient lubrication system. These miniaturised cage and non-cage types, have application advantages that include high precision, low noise levels and extended service life.

Lillo Silipigni created INTERCOM S.r.l. in 1981, which operates in the shearing and molding equipment sector of plastic materials. They currently offer a specific range of products which includes a complete assortment of tools for sheet metal and plastic processing and an extensive program dedicated to solutions special. The production includes: standardized guide elements according to DIN/ISO standards, punches and dies standard and customized, BMI200 mechanical tapping machines and SL2005 electronic tapping machines for threading inside the mold and standard and custom mold holder blocks.
Roll Cages
The use of the roller cage is essential if the steering system is subjected to high transverse forces. Intercom roller cage can support loads up to 12 times that of the classic ball cage guide, distributing the driving effort along the contact line of the profile of the roller itself. The support surface of the roller in fact distributes uniformly the load, thus ensuring a greater longevity of the entire system.
Guide Pillars
The guide pillar and guide bush align the fixed and moving halves of a mold in each cycle. The material cases are usually made of medium carbon steel and will have higher hardness.
Self-Lubricating bush with Intercoat
The INTERCOAT process coats the surfaces metallic. Through a pre-treatment mechanical the surface of the material is deeply cleaned. This allows to the fluoropolymer to anchor itself to the substrate, obtaining an extension of the properties anti-wear, anti-friction and anti-corrosion, reducing the risk of detachment. The coefficient of friction is between 0.05 and 0.2.
Intercom guide, sliding friction, Intercoat self-lubricating sliding:
It consists of a steel bush with a sliding surface covered with a special self-lubricating coating with addition of spiral lubrication channels, equipped with greasing system for topping up the grease. The steel bush body ensures proper breaking strength even in the presence of high bending stresses.
Guide Bushes Complete with Bronze Ball Cage
Guide Bush Bronze Plated
Precision intercom guide, with sliding friction, sliding on bronze:
It consists of a steel bush with a surface, scroll covered with a bronze insert with addition of spiral lubrication channels, fitted of greasing system for topping up the grease. The steel bush body ensures proper breaking strength even in the presence of high bending stresses.
Intercom Precision Ball Guide
The accurate finish, the particularly tight tolerance of the balls and a correct preload, allow movement without backlash. The benefits of rolling friction come to their fullest enhanced thanks to the rectification and super-finishing of the rolling surfaces. The high flowability of this guide is very popular with manufacturers of moulds. Intercom ball guides are equipped with cages in bronze, aluminum and synthetic material, e thanks to their high number of spheres and their stability, they have given the best practical results.
Ball Cages
The ball guiding mini-series allow getting the maximum precision with a soft sliding. They are used in the field of control instruments and among delicate workings.

Cross+Morse is a Birmingham based manufacturer of Power Transmission products and solutions with over 100 years of history, right in the centre of the engineering hub in the West Midlands region in the United Kingdom.
Shaft Clamping Element
Cross Shaft Clamping Elements, by means of frictional forces, provide connection of all types of transmission equipment to their respective shafts, enabling transmission of both torque and axial thrust loads. Precision tapered thrust cones within the clamping elements create high pressure between shaft and hub to securely fasten pulleys, sprockets, gears, etc.
Clamping Elements Type RCK 15/13/16
Designed for use with standardised ranges of pulleys, sprockets, and gears, the shaft clamping elements can accommodate a large range of shaft diameters with a hub of constant bore diameter. On clamping precise axial and radial positioning is provided, combined with medium torque transmission capability.
Clamping Elements Type RCK 13
Designed for use with standardised ranges of pulleys, sprockets, and gears, the shaft clamping elements can accommodate a large range of shaft diameters with a hub of constant bore diameter. On clamping precise axial and radial positioning is provided, combined with medium torque transmission capability.
Clamping Elements Type RCK 15
These shaft clamping elements are very compact units capable of transmitting medium torques. Their design ensures good concentricity between hubs and shafts, without any other means of location. A slight axial movement between hub and shaft occurs during clamping. These units can be installed totally within the hub providing optimum safety, and minimal axial length.
Clamping Elements Type RCK 16
These clamping elements are basically to same design as RCK 13, but with increased diameter flange to locate hub and prevent axial movements, so combining good concentricity with positive axial location. The increase in friction between the cones due to axial restriction results in torque reduction of approx 20%, but this also means reduced surface pressures to both hub and shaft.
Clamping Elements Type RCK 70/71: High Torque Units
Clamping Elements Type RCK 70
These shaft clamping elements are designed to give optimum concentricity, both radically and axially. Similar in design to the RCK 13, but with increased length to provide improved support, and reduced pressures on both shaft and hub. These units must always be installed inside the hub to ensure optimum concentricity. Axial movement of hub will occur during clamping operation.
Clamping Elements Type RCK 71
The RCK 71 is a type RCK 70 with addition of a distance ring to prevent axial movement of the hub during clamping. Due to the additional friction between the element and hub during clamping maximum torques are reduced, but with reduction in surface pressures also. This design can be mounted within the confines of a hub providing a stepped bore is provided to accommodate the flange.
Clamping Elements Type RCK 80 / ACE 81
Clamping Elements Type RCK 80
Available for shaft diameters down to 6mm, these shaft clamping elements are designed to fit into small diameter hubs, being particularly suited to light duty, light torque applications. A spacer ring prevents axial movement during clamping; and design ensures good levels of concentricity.
Clamping Elements Type ACE 81
Clamping Elements Type RCK 50 CCE 54/55

4 Bolt Round RHP Bearing Unit 80mm Shaft
The MFC80 Cast Iron Flange Bearing Units are widely used in the Manufacturing and Agricultural Industries.
Pillow Blocks
Pillow blocks (plummer blocks) are the most common type of bearing unit. The complete units feature a bearing mounted in a simple, rigid housing. They are extensively used in a range of transmission equipment and general machinery.
Square Flanged Units
These bearing housings have a square flange which can be easily attached to a machine with four bolts. With a simple mounting face, square flanged units are widely used.
Oval Flanged Units
The bearing housing features a diamond-shaped flange for easy mounting to the machine base or side wall with two bolts. They are suited in applications where mounting space and the distance between shafts is small. Often, the spacing between bolt holes is equal to the diagonal positioning of square-flange types.
Ball Bearings: Set Screw Type
Set screw ball bearings are specially designed for bearing units and come in a range of models depending on the mounting.
Ball Bearing Units Steel Series
The rolled steel microstructure is more consistent than cast iron or cast steel, reducing the risk of housing fracture under severe conditions. Rolled steel housing dimensions are consistent with cast units, allowing them to be interchanged with NSK standard housings and other manufacturers ISO standard.
Ball Bearing Units with Ductile Cast Iron Housing
NSK ductile iron series housings weight 40 % less in comparison with standard NSK housings made with gray cast iron. NSK ductile cast iron series housings are approximately 30% stronger than standard NSK housings made with gray cast iron. NSK ductile cast iron series housings are interchangeable with standard NSK ball bearing units.
Triple-Sealed Bearings for Ball Bearing Units
These reliable triple-sealed bearings are dustproof and waterproof. They ensure a longer bearing life even when exposed to heavy airborne dust and splashes of foul water.

Oil-less bearings are self-lubricating, plain bearings. They are used not only in mechanical equipment such as automobiles, information devices, electrical machines, heavy industry/plants, and production equipment, but their use and scope of application also extends to a wide range of industries, including civil engineering and building structures. They help to reduce maintenance, conserve energy, and prevent environmental pollution.
The friction, wear, and lubrication fields of technology are jointly referred to as "tribology." Oiles Corporation Group is constantly introducing new products into the market and increasing our market competitiveness by mastering the tribology and damping (vibration control) categories. We are making every effort to ensure stable profits in any environment and to increase our ongoing business valuation by restructuring the management of the entire group and improving the quality of our management.
Associated with bearings in a broad sense, every machine is designed to run smoothly without a hitch. The bearings are largely divided into roller bearings and plain bearings.
Normal plain bearings tend to seize because of a high load, movement form, mixture of foreign matters, temperature condition, improper lubrication and maintenance, and so on.
Even in the condition where these normal plain bearings are not suitable, OILES bearings exhibit the performance requested for the bearings, such as wear resistance and seizure resistance, to materialize performance enhancement and maintenance-free devices.
Oiles bearings are environmentally friendly plain bearings that require either no lubrication, or a reduced frequency and amount of lubrication. They are widely used in various industrial machines, including automobiles.

Shaft collars are machine components featuring a simple design that consists of a round metal or plastic ring with a clamp screw or screws. Tightening the screws causes the ring to tighten or loosen around the shaft. When securely tightened, shaft collars can serve as mechanical stops or hold components in place along a shaft. Despite their simple design, shaft collars play an important role in a wide range of industrial applications.
TYPES OF SHAFT COLLARS
Shaft collars provide three primary functions: 1) holding components in place, 2) locating or positioning components on a shaft, and 3) creating an attachment between shaft and another component. Some of the types commonly available include:
Threaded shaft collars. Threaded shaft collars have a threaded interior that allows for use on threaded shafts, making them an excellent choice for heavy-load applications requiring high axial holding power. The threaded design also allows for easy adjustments and precise positioning.
One-piece shaft collars. They feature a simple design featuring a single screw. They work by surrounding the shaft with an evenly distributed compressive force . Since they cannot be disassembled, one-piece collars are only suitable for applications where the end of the shaft is accessible.
Two-piece shaft collars. These can be completely disassembled, allowing them to be used in situations where the end of the shaft is not accessible. Two-piece collars also provide greater holding force and shock-load resistance.
Hinge shaft collars. Their design allows for easy disassembly and reassembly along the shaft. They consist of a single unit that can be installed without the risk of dropping loose parts.
Heavy-duty shaft collars. Compared to other shaft collar designs, heavy-duty shaft collars feature larger clamping screws and greater outer diameters and widths. The torsional holding capacity of heavy-duty collars is approximately twice that of standard collars.
Shaft Collar Bore Varieties. Bore shaft collars are manufactured in round, threaded, hexagonal, and square configurations. Round bore shaft collars are used as stops, locators, spacers, and bearing faces for a broad range of motion control, power transmission, and mounting applications. They are suitable for use on shafts, piping and tubing, and split hubs. Threaded bore shaft collars provide exceptional axial holding power without damaging threaded shafts. Their simple yet flexible design enables quick assembly and easy adjustments. Hexagonal shaft collars and square shaft collars are exclusively manufactured by Stafford Manufacturing to fit hexagonal or square shafts.
